Baby Shower Speeches: You've done all the work, the baby shower is coming together beautifully. Some wonder if they have to give a speech at the baby shower. This is completely up to you. You have done so much to put this even together so if you don't feel like you want to give a speech, don't! Most times if a baby shower speech is given, it is done by the hostess. In some instances a mother to be may asked to give a speech. It is suggested that you do this towards the end of the shower to wrap things up. So what are you supposed to say? Here you will find a few ideas for both hostesses and moms on what you can say in your speech.

The Personal touch (Hostess):

This type of speech can be impromptu or written down. Thank everyone for coming and for their support for the mom to be.

Maybe let everyone know how you felt when you found out the mom to be was pregnant. How long have you known the mom to be and what does your friendship mean? Let her know what a great mom you think she will be. You could also share a story about her. You will be surprised at how easy talking about a good friend or family member will be. This is guaranteed to be a great baby shower speech.

The Personal Touch (Mom to be)

Start out by thanking the guests for coming to support you and for their thoughtful gifts. You could also thank your hostess/hostesses for throwing the baby shower.

You could let everyone know how you felt when you were pregnant. Tell everyone about your journey through pregnancy and what it has meant to you. What are you looking forward to about motherhood? There are many other things you could say, so be creative! Take the time to write down your thoughts before your big day.

Poems
Poems are a great way to give a speech. They are easy, pre-written and sentimental. There are many great poem resources on the web that can help you give that perfect speech. Simply do a search for baby shower poems. Here is a poem you can use if you so choose.

Morning Sickness, Food aversions and much more,
