There are a lot of different options for baby shower cakes. The very first thing that you need to consider is how many people you are going to feed. For example it would not be practical to make individual decorated cakes for everyone if you have fifty people to feed. At the same time you wouldn’t want to make a tiered cake or a half sheet cake if your group only has five people. The maximum number of servings per cake are:

8" or 9" round cake, single layer = 8 Servings
8" or 9" round cake, 2 layers = 12 to 16 servings
8" or 9" square cake, single layer = 9 servings
10" x 4" angel food or chiffon cake = 12 to 16 servings
12 cup Bundt cake = 12 to 16 servings
10" cheesecake (made in a spring form pan) = 12 to 16 servings
13" x 9" x 2" sheet cake = 12 to 16 servings
cake roll = about 12 - 1" slices
pound cake (made in a 10" loaf pan) = 10 to 12 servings
